Finn loves making music a big part of his life. He started by playing the ukelele at the age of four. But it seems that he was set on the violin. From a very young age, he would take a wooden spoon and use it as a bow, turning his ukelele into a violin.
He learned violin with a Hackney music programme, playing in the local community centre for seven years. He used to busk for local charities with the group, and Finn has loved playing in a group (and busking) ever since.
Finn joined the NYO Orchestra in 2021, enjoying playing and sharing music on residencies, in local schools and in concert halls.
He says:
NYO gave me the opportunity to lead a warm down - such a great experience and the kind of thing that I’d like to pursue further - leading workshops and creative sessions at schools with other young people.
Music really is a second family for me - neither of my parents were born in the UK and so the orchestra is like the extended family that I don’t have in the UK.
