'An orchestra worth funding to the skies' The Times Click here to donate now!
Every year the National Youth Orchestra needs to raise over £1m to deliver its programme of exceptional concerts and inspiring outreach work. These funds allow us to; run three, 10-14 day, residential courses for the 165 members of NYO; engage expert instrumental tuition for each section of the orchestra; work with world leading conductors and soloists; subsidise every young person’s place in the orchestra to a manageable fee level as well as offering free places to those in the greatest need; perform in the country’s leading concert halls; ensure an appropriate and safe environment in which all the young people who participate in NYO activity can thrive; take our performances out of the concert hall and into the communities where we play; and offer extraordinary opportunities for young people all over the country to experience what The Times described as ‘the most uplifting orchestra in the world’.
Over 70% of these funds are raised from individuals, trusts and foundations and companies who wish to support, share and celebrate our work. Our supporters share the values of NYO and its members; a passion for music; a commitment to excellence, dedication and hard work; and a belief that young people have an extraordinary part to play in music and society.
