London Open Day 2009
On 20 September, the NYO held its first Open Day at Southbank Centre as part of the spectacular launch of The Bernstein Project, a year-long festival celebrating the composer of West Side Story. 40 young musicians joined forces with 10 NYO players and a group of our tutors led by Paul Griffiths to make a new musical tribute to Bernstein, inspired by his jazz score for the film On The Waterfront.
